Easter Fun Day – event for families in Canterbury

Discover how Easter is celebrated in Britain, Poland and around the globe in Canterbury’s Easter Fun Day on Saturday 31 March.

The fun begins at the Riverside Children’s Centre, Kingsmead, between 10.30am and 12 noon, where families with children aged up to five can enjoy a range of Easter activities including Polish Easter crafts, palm, card and Easter basket making. Children can play in the nursery and have fun in the fabulous nursery garden.

The event costs £1 per family, which includes a light snack (Polish food).

Activities continue at the Canterbury Heritage Museum, Stour Street, between 2pm and 4pm. Visitors can decorate eggs and take part in fun and unusual customs from Britain, Poland and around the world. There is also a treasure hunt around the galleries, with a small prize available, as well as Easter and egg-related stories.

Activities are included in the standard museum entry price, with a special price for holders of a city council Residents Card of £3 adults, £2 discounts. All children go free.

The Easter Fun Day is a partnership event organised by the Polish Association in Kent, the Polish Educational Club in Kent, Riverside Children’s Centre and Canterbury City Council’s Museums Service.
